A Post-Grad Guide to Growing Up

About

Twenty Something Magazine is a product that has morphed into so much more than just a Capstone project. When I graduated from college, I was excited to venture into a new stage of my life; however, I quickly realized that leaving the comfort of college friends and the nurturing environment of supportive teachers was a whole lot harder than I had imagined. Not only did I struggle with financially supporting myself, but I lacked professional passion. Luckily, I found my way from elementary school teaching to studying interactive media at Elon University.

When thinking about what I wanted to create for my Masters Capstone project, I realized I would not be where I am today with out a little trial and error. I chose to create Twenty Something Magazine to communicate to fellow post-graduates and young professionals that they are not alone in the "adulting" struggle. I wanted this magazine to not only feature content that was relatable to this audience, but to present it as an interactive digital experience. Focussing on elements of graphic and interface design makes this user experience visually fresh and fun. Twenty Something Magazine has become a significant conclusion to my Masters degree, but is my personal commentary on all the things I wish I had known a few years back.

I have come to realize that being "twenty-something" is a gift and not a moment should be wasted. Ups and downs are all part of the ride, so take some tips, shop for a bit, and maybe learn a little with Twenty Something Magazine!
